Hi there, welcome!
Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Nicki Savage. People always tell me that my name sounds like that of a rock star. I am not musically inclined but I do love to sing my favorite tunes in the car, especially those from the 60's and 70's -- that's definitely my jam.
We reside in a western suburb of Des Moines, IA and have one amazing son. We are avid Cyclone fans, to be sure. I may live in the heartland but my heart is at the beach.
I am a passionate, curious, creative person. I am a homebody yet have a insatiable appetite for travel and adventure. I am definitely a dichotomy and a work in progress. I believe the meaning of life is pretty simple -- it's about love. I also believe a person needs three things to truly be happy: someone to love, something to do and something to look forward to.
As far back as I can remember I have loved decorating and transforming spaces. When I was little I would spend hours playing with Barbie dolls but it wasn't really the dolls that interested me, it was decorating their doll houses and creating outfits for them.
I graduated from college with a BFA in graphic design yet spent many years working for a couple of Fortune 500 companies managing their direct marketing efforts. It is safe to say my passion for design never waned. Through the years I utilized my home as my creative outlet and helped many family members and friends with their decorating efforts. Finally, after much reflection and some soul searching, I decided to professionally follow my true calling and I couldn't be happier.
Whether your project is big or small, whether you live in my area or somewhere else across the globe, I would be honored to help you with your design needs. My goal, through my blog and social media, is to inspire you, entertain you, or simply introduce you to something new. I love how social media allows us to connect from all corners of the world and share our stories and ideas. It's a great time to be alive!
Be sure to follow me on Instagram at nickisavage_design. I share a lot of my work, ideas and stories there.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you come back soon!
